In different parts of the platform, you may see two different buttons: “Generate Email” and at other times “Request Journalist Info.” We’ll clarify the difference here.
What does “Generate Email” mean?
Generate Email means that the IR platform will draft an email to this journalist, and it will appear in your “Ready to Send” folder almost immediately for you to review and send.
This option appears when the platform has properly identified the author of the article, and we have an email address for the journalist in the platform.
What does “Request Journalist Info” mean?
This prompt appears when the author of the article was not identified/the database does not have an active email address for the journalist. The button prompts a review of the journalist’s profile and contact information, and allows our systems and team to update our database with that journalist’s information.
What Should I Do If I Just Want to Email People, not Wait?
If you want to move quickly, we recommend you filter the articles using the “Journalists - Exists” toggle switch. This will automatically filter all the articles to just the ones that have email addresses and that you can email immediately.
